Groove3 TAL-J-8 Explained® TUTORiALVirtual instrument expert Larry Holcombe presents comprehensive TAL-J-8 video tutorials! If you’re a fan of TAL Software’s incredibly accurate emulation of the Jupiter 8, but you’re a bit overwhelmed by the dizzying array of sliders, knobs, and buttons, this is the course to watch! Larry breaks down each component of the plugin in detail, covering all the important features and functions, and also demonstrates them in action by creating several different inspiring sounds. These videos are for new TAL-J-8 users.

Larry welcomes you and begins by explaining the plugin’s concept and walking through the interface, along with showing you how to work with the onboard presets. You’ll explore the VCOs (oscillators) next and learn how the raw waveforms can be combined, tweaked, and layered to build the basis of your sound. Then discover the VCO Modulator, and how it can generate vibrato effects, along with the LFO (low frequency oscillator) settings and parameters.

Next, Larry covers the HPF (high pass filter) and VCF (voltage-controlled filter), both of which allow further sculpting of the tone via frequency carving. You’ll then explore the VCA (amplifier) and learn how its parameters can be modulated over time to create movement in the sound.

Throughout the rest of the course, you’ll examine the synth’s other many features, including envelopes, panel controls, panel modes, master settings, MIDI learn, and more! Finish up the course by following along as Larry builds four sounds — kick, bass, pad, and lead — on the synth so you can see how it all comes together!
